Kathleen Vaughn
Kathy, as she was known by her family and friends was called home to be with her great creator at 11:34 PM Thursday March 12th, 2020 at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall after an illness that caused her body to shut down.
Kathy was the daughter of Harold and Joy Rockhey, younger sister to Diana Lee Rockhey-Epple and her little brother Jeff Rockhey. She was a vibrant, joyful and caring person who was truly loved by her family and friends. She lived a wonderful life that spanned many states and she touched many people in all walks of life. She grew up in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. She moved to Florida after her parents to be closer to family. She started her own family of three girls and a son, Jenny, Debbie, Wendy and Bob.
Her family meant everything to her, and she was a great daughter, sister, mother and friend to all that knew her. She was a caregiver for her mother for many years after her father’s passing.  She followed her daughter Jenny Johnson (Don) & grandson David to Magee, Mississippi and her daughter Debbie moved to Magee soon after.  She was blessed with grandchildren David, Leslie, Allison, Kimberlee and Kevin who she was so proud of.
She worked at the Hospital in Magee for a while cheerfully greeting and checking in patients with as much care as if they were her family.
She developed medical issues that became a challenge for her, but it never diminished her enthusiasm and zest for life. Her positive attitude and caring nature endeared her to countless friends. She was strong in her faith and was an “Angel” to her family who will miss her daily until they will all meet again in Gods house
A private celebration will be held with her family.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
