Kathrine Brown, 88, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. She was born to Shelby Butler and Beulah Higgins Butler on October 9, 1934.
She worked at Hillcrest for many years. Kathrine loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Victor Brown (Debbie), Mark Brown (Carrie); daughters, Darnell Hester (Glen), Judy Brown Hodges, Brenda Gail May (Archie), Patricia Smith (Vernon “VR”); beloved daughter, Merry Russell; brothers, Charles Butler ( Betty); sister, Shelby Jean Rosary; sisters in law, Joyce Brown, Joan Brown; grandchildren, Jason Smith (Erica), Nan Walker (Tim), Sean Hester, Shayne Hester (Sarah), Shavan Hester, Ken Russell, Jill Grubbs ( Ashley), Daniel Hodges (Lauren), Stephaine Richardson (George), Dawn Rushing (Shannon), Daniel “Bull” May (Toni), Homer May, Hope May (Colton Bowen), Eric Brown (Kailynn), Dylan Brown (Danielle), Justin Brown, Courtney Brown, Zac Brown, Brandon Harris, Brandy Grantham (Matthew), Payton Brown; many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnell Brown; parents, Shelby and Beulah Butler; son, Larry Mitchell Brown; sisters, Willie B. Brown (Harold), Dorthy Roberts (Pearly); brother in Law, Joe Rosary and great-grandchild, Landon Wayne May.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall with Bro. Roger Lee and Bro David Hanna officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
