DISTRICT ATTORNEY MATT SULLIVAN ANNOUNCES DEFENDANT JUSTIN MULLINS SENTENCED TO 50 YEARS

District Attorney Matt Sullivan announces that on February 28, 2017, Defendant Justin Mullins declined his right to a jury trial and pled guilty to the felony crime of Sexual Battery of a Child under the age of fourteen years. Mullins was sentenced to 50 years under the control of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and shall be a registered sex offender for the remainder of his natural life. District Attorney Sullivan acknowledges the young victim’s courage and law enforcement’s diligent work. To protect child victims in such cases, District Attorney Sullivan’s policy prohibits his office from publicizing detailed facts. Mullins’ conviction is one of the most notable cases prosecuted in Simpson County thus far in 2017.
