Judy Polk Clark, who grew up in Magee and whose family still owns and operates Polk’s Pharmacy, was inducted into the Mississippi Pharmacists Association Hall of Fame.
Judy is a grade of Magee High School and the daughter of Edith and the late Eugene Polk of Magee.
Judy grew up “behind a counter” at the pharmacy. Upon graduation she worked side by side with her daddy…learning from the best to be the best. Congratulations, Judy. We in Magee are proud of you.

Below is a post her daughter, Brynne Clark, wrote on Facebook Tuesday night. Brynne says it best!

“Tonight, after 43 years, our sweet mama Judy Clark was given the highest honor and inducted into the Mississippi Pharmacists Association Hall of Fame. She was one of a handful of women in her pharmacy class and graduated with all the honors and awards from Ole Miss. She started working side-by-side with her best friend, mentor, and father at their family pharmacy in Magee.
She worked retail, long-term care facilities, hospitals, consulting-there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do and there wasn’t anywhere she didn’t succeed. She worked tirelessly for her patients at every turn, but the highlight and crowning achievement was the thirteen years she spent as the Pharmacy Director of the Division of Medicaid. A true caregiver, she compassionately served the more than 750,000 beneficiaries who relied on her work and guidance for life-saving therapies. This job suited her life’s work but also her humongous heart. She was able to love and care for those who needed her the most. It was challenging and heartbreaking and rewarding. She gave hope and literally saved lives. Whether it was legislative budget cuts or Hurricane Katrina, Mama was there to insure no one went without.
She’s brilliant and respected and firm and kind. She’s a breaker of glass ceilings. How lucky we are to have our own in-house Wonder Woman. Pop would be so proud of the woman she is and everything she has accomplished. What a better world we would live in if everyone spent their days helping others, and especially if they lived by Mama’s motto of, “And above all, do no harm”.
The best part about it all is that she’s not done yet. Mama, congratulations, we are so proud of you. #mphaconv2017″

Again, Judy we are so proud of you!!!
