Mr. Montgomery, 74, passed from this life on Monday, April 16, 2018. He was born March 23, 1944 in Kosciusko, Ms. Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife Joyce Montgomery; 8 children; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Maggie Dendy Withers and Mary Outlaw. Mr. Montgomery is preceded in death by his daughter Marie and stepson Duane; 6 sisters.
Mr. Montgomery served in the Armed Forces since Oct. 1, 1968 – Jun. 23, 1971. He received an honorable discharge from receiving muscle nerve damage from Agent Orange while in Vietnam. While in service Mr. Montgomery received 1st and 2nd award, GCMDL, MUC, and RVN Gallantry Cross Unit Citation w/Palm awards. He also held a ranking of SSG E-6.
Visitation will be held Friday April 20, 2018 at 9:00am – 12:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee.
