Johnny Purser, 69, of Mount Olive, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 21, 2015 11:00 am, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Bro. Earl Clark and Bro. Wyman Bradley will officiate burial will be in Merit Cemetery in Mendenhall. Music will be by Candace Bush and Shorty Carruth. Pallbearers will be Edwin Bush, Dexter Dowell, Jeremy Purser, Charles Paes, Michael Barnard, Jamie Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Bush and Stanley Foster.
Mr. Purser was born in Magee on July 31, 1946, he was a retired officer of Mendenhall Police Department, Simpson County Sheriff Department, Brandon Police Department, and Mississippi State Capital Police. He was of Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Purser, Sons J. T. and Donna Purser, Mendenhall, Joshua and Kristy Purser, Magee, daughters Tabitha and Steven Holston, Mize, Trina Spraberry Poole, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Tiffany Sprayberry Turner, Mize. Grandchildren Laura Purser, Lane Purser, Madison Purser, Sara Purser, Brooklyn Purser, Cayden Ashmore, Karley Ashmore, Cole Ashmore, Luke Holston, Areial Holsten, Sam Holston, Mason Poole, Natalie Poole, Hunter Poole, and Tucker Turner.Sisters Joyce LaBiche, Mount Olive, Kathryn Perkins, Warren, AR, Linda Purser, Magee, brothers Jerry Purser, Magee, Gary and Teresa Purser, Mize, and Marsha and Rickey Craft, Mize.
Mr. Purser was preceded in death by his parents Marzell and Lois Wilborn Purser, and his first wife Betty Elaine Foster Purser.
Visitation will be at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm.
