Johnny Mack McKissack, 64, of Mize, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his home in Mize, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, July 7, 1956.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Mize.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Mize. The Burial will follow in Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Bro. Tony Keys and Bro. Brian Means will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Johnny Mack McKissack was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Mize. He was a life-long lover of music. He sang in the quartet gospel group, Hosanna. He loved to spend time with his family. He had a huge heart and never met a stranger. He was a hard-working brick mason since early youth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred McKissack; brothers, Butch McKissack and Charles Mack McKissack.
Survivors include his wife, Reba McKissack; children, Bethany Byrd (BJ) and Jonathan McKissack (Cami); grandchildren, Destiny Austin (Ty), Jeremy Hux (Sydney), Dawson Hux, Daylen Hux, Hudson McKissack, and Evie Kate McKissack; three great-grandchildren; brother, David McKissack (Kim); sisters, Joan Valentine, Janice Sherman (Danny), Susan Bolian (Danny), and Donna McKissack; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Kennedy, BJ Byrd, Jeremy Hux, Dawson Hux, Daylen Hux, and Ty Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be Hudson McKissack.
