Johnny Garrison Lewis, Jr
(September 2, 1967 – January 7, 2016)
Johnny G. Lewis, Jr., 48, of Harrisville passed away at his home Thursday, January 7, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, with Bro. Jimmy Errington and Bro. Dennis Raines officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 5-8pm, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Burial will be in Harrisville Cemetery.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 32 years, Laura, and his children, Brandi (Steele) Cockrell and Jay (Casey) Lewis. He was a proud Pappy to Logan and Conner Cockrell and Kiptyn, Cason, Roslyn and Garrison Lewis. He leaves behind his mother, June Lewis, his sisters, Deanna (Randy) Moore, Cynthia Lewis, and Kimberly (Bundy) Boykin, and his brothers, Vince (Tammy) Lewis and Dennis (Rita) Raines. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie G. Lewis, Sr. Serving as pall bearers are his nephews, BJ Boykin, Justin Boykin, EJ Rice, Tyler Rice, and Michael Raines and his “other son” Lee Evans. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Macoy, his longest, most faithful friend, and his nephews, Nathan Lewis and Jacob Leach.
Romans 8:18 says “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” While he will be missed greatly, his family and those who knew him best know that he is finally living free of pain and heartache.
