John Richard (Rick) Polk of Mt. Olive, formerly of Jackson, died July 15, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Polk was born Feb. 8, 1949 in Hattiesburg, the son of the late Hilda McNair Polk and Ernest E. Polk, Jr.
He graduated from Forest Hill High School and received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Mississippi College.
Mr. Polk began his career as a field auditor for the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor. He was then hired as County Administrator of Warren County, a position he held for nearly 30 years until his retirement in 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his aunt, Mary John Kimbrough, cousins, Kara Kimbrough, Marany Yates, Ronny Kimbrough and Lane Kimbrough, and a number of long-time friends.
Services are Monday at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Dr. Carl Savell will officiate. Interment is in Mt. Olive City Cemetery.
