John Quiton Ainsworth, 88, of Braxton, MS passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, August 23, 2022. John was born in Mize, MS on February 8, 1934, to Julius and Mattie Meadows Ainsworth.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to fish and go to the reservoir to watch the sunset and sunrise, to eat fish at Jerry’s Fish House and eat at Fernando’s. He had such a kind and gentle soul and was a caring person. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He was employed by Continental Can Company in Flowood, MS for 17 years. He owned and operated Ainsworth Home Maintenance along with his son, Wayne until he retired at age of 79.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Mattie Ainsworth; his nine siblings; his wife, Mellie Thornton Ainsworth and his son, Jerry Bryan Ainsworth.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Flanagan Ainsworth of Braxton; his children, Marie Netherland, Wayne Ainsworth (Gail), Joanne Johnson (Travis), Machell Agent (James), Mike Flanagan (Charlotte) and Greg Hampton (Amy); grandchildren, Trevor Johnson, Bradley Ainsworth (Lauren), Jordan Johnson (Jessica), Jayme Agent, Kendall Agent, Dixie Waldrop (Jeff), Justin Flanegan, Michelle Weeks (Stephen), Shannon Wheat (Daniel) and Kristen Worrell (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Aiden, Aniston, Pepper Jean, Brayden, Tucker, Vayda, Jaxson, Layton, Keylan, Hampton, Ruby Kate and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
