John Michael Peden
(February 21, 1973 – April 21, 2022)

John Michael Peden, 49 of Magee, Mississippi passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, February 21, 1973, in Mobile, Alabama.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 302 8th Avenue SW, Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Magee City Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Brother Tony McDonald will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Michael was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, fishing, listening to Blues music, and most of all listening to his son play his guitar and watching his girls play various sports.  He was a devoted LSU fan “Geaux Tigers”.  He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Peden; mother, Janet C. Coats Peden; brother, David W. Peden; grandparents, John and Katherine Coats Magee; grandfather, Robert Dewey Peden; grandmother, Susie Dell Hightower Spellman; and nephew, Tommy Peden.

Survivors include his son, John Peden, II of Magee, MS; daughters, Sunny Peden and Rose Peden both of Puckett, MS; the mother of his girls, Jenny Thornton (Ben) of Puckett, MS nephew, Timothy Peden Harvey of Magee, MS; nieces, Jamie Chestnut (Kaine) of Magee, MS, Haley Mayes (Chadwick) of Baton Rouge, LA and Hollie Thomas (Keith) of Flowood, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Michael Peden, Ben Thornton, Garrett Counts, Timmy Harvey, Michael Shows, and Ben Murphy.
