John Ware Dill

  John (Jack) Ware Dill, 94, of Taylorsville, MS passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at his home in Taylorsville.  Funeral services will be at Colonial Chapel in Taylorsville.  Visitation will be held Saturday July 16, 2022 from 5pm-8pm with the service on Sunday July 17, 2022 at 2pm in Colonial Chapel.   Dr. Rory M. Dill will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

  He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Nell Stroud Dill; step-father Ledrew Pridgen; mother Minnie Keene Pridgen; granddaughters Kristen Nicole Dill and Laura Katherine Dill.

  Survivors include his son Dr. Rory M. Dill (Renee) of Laurel, MS; daughter Mitzi Ashley of Taylorsville, MS; grand-daughter Kacey West Jones (Jacob) of Taylorsville, MS; and grand-son John Wesley West (Jessica) of Braxton, MS; great-grandchildren Jackson Jones, Jett Jones, and Joanna West.  Also a half-brother Dayton Pridgen (Joanne) and half-sister Sarah Adams.

   He served in the US Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1947.  He began working for Western Electric/Bell South in 1950 and retired in 1985 after 35 years.  He was also a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers.  Mr. Jack also had Dill’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration service for many years.  After retirement he worked for a while with USM telecommunications and with O’Reilly Auto Parts.  He loved God and Jesus and was a member of FBC Taylorsville for many years and later at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.  He was very involved in his church when he was able.

   Pallbearers will be Mark Jones, Rock White, David Blakeney, Danny Ray Ishee, John West, & Jacob Jones.  Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Eubanks, Kevin Norris, John Billy Blakeney, and Lynn Horn.
