John David Hegwood, 75, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Monday, November 2, 2020, at his home Magee, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, September 30, 1945, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Magee City Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi.
A Masonic Graveside Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Magee City Cemetery. Bro. Danny Dickerson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mr. Hegwood was a member of First Baptist Church of Magee. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of Oak Hill Masonic Lodge #553. He enjoyed working in his garden and being on his John Deer tractor, and sharing fruit of his labor with the community. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ciley Hegwood and Amy Upton Hegwood; two brothers, Robert White and Des Hegwood; one sister, Christine White Highlander; and one nephew, Ronnie White.
Survivors his loving wife of fifty-two years, Martha Walker Hegwood of Magee; one daughter, Libby Hegwood Shivers and husband, Jay of Magee; one sister-in-law, Viola White of Shreveport, LA; two nephews, Charlie Highlander and wife, Linda of High Springs, FL, and Robin Highlander and wife, Sandy of Crestview, FL; three nieces, Carolyn Williamson and husband Weyland of Crestview, FL, Glenda Wilson and husband, Clyde of Shreveport, LA, and Angela Thompson and husband, Lane of Pioneer, LA; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be The Oak Hill Masonic Lodge #553 of Magee.
