Mr. John Byars, 76, died 5/11/20 at his home in Maben with his family by his side.

He was born in Choctaw County MS to Wes and Blanchie Lue Perrigin Byars on October 19, 1943.  He was a graduate of Maben High School in 1963 and a graduate of Hinds Junior College in 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Timothy Byars, granddaughter; Sarah Byars, and two brothers; Jay and Charles Byars.

John and Sandra lived most of their life in Simpson County, MS, being self employed in appliance sales and service for 40 years. They retired and returned in 2013 to their hometown of Maben.

John was a member and deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS for 40 years and was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Maben.

Mr. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra Howard Byars, Maben, MS, son; Kevin (Cindy) Byars, Flowood, MS, grandsons; John and Matthew Byars, a sister; Catherine Fulgham, Maben, MS, two brothers; Tom (Joan) Byars, Mathiston, MS and Joe (Rita) Byars, Lawrenceville, GA and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral/Graveside services were held 3:00PM Wednesday 5/13/20 at Double Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Oktibbeha County. Bro. Tommy Temple officiated.

Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements.
