Joe Spangler, 78, of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at the University Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born Sunday, June 14, 1942.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. The Burial will follow in Calvary Presbyterian Cemetery. Bro. Randy Rigney will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.
A truck driver by trade, he traveled across the U.S. until his retirement. After that, he enjoyed watching the world go by from his front porch. He also was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Thompson; second wife, Lois Thomae; parents, Floyd and Pearl Spangler; brothers, A.J. Spangler, Ray Spangler, Raymond Spangler, Mitchell Spangler; sisters, Helen Grace Speed, Geneva Palmer, and Shirley Odom.
Survivors include his five children, Teresa Boone and husband John, Joe Spangler, Jr. and wife Stephanie, Penny Mooney and husband Mark, Shirley Jordan and husband Timmy, and Donna Carter; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Herrington, Janey Comans, Janey Peek; and a host of nieces ,nephews, and other family members
