     Joe Allen “Joey” Hawkins, Jr., 60, of Seminary, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020, in Seminary, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, October 15, 1959, Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

        Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Taylorsville United Methodist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Mike Walker, Dr. Frankie Clark, and Mr. Ben Ford will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564

        Mr. Hawkins was a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church. He was a 1977 graduate from Taylorsville High School.  He continued his education in the nursing field at Bishop State University getting a degree as a Registered Nurse.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a member of Harmony Hunting Club in Issaquena County.   He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

        He was preceded in death by parents, Joe Allen Hawkins, Sr. and Janice Chandler Hawkins; one brother, John Odell Hawkins.

        Survivors include two brothers, Robbie Hawkins (Carrie) of Taylorsville and Jerrald “Thero” Hawkins (Teresa) of Taylorsville; one sister, Alison Hawkins Kercheval of Taylorsville; one granddaughter, Anna Grace Ezell; five nieces, Courtney Shoemaker, Ashley Clark, Brooke Kercheval, Merigrace Hawkins, and Chloe Hawkins; three nephews, Tyler Kercheval, Ayden Hawkins, and Jackson Luckey.

        The family requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
