Jock Allen, formerly of Magee and a Magee High School graduate, died Saturday morning after a brief illness.

Arrangements are: Visitation 10-12 and Service at 12 Brandon Baptist Church Monday

I will attempt to get a full obituary. Just wanted the Magee folks to know.

Jock was an outstanding athletic while at Magee. His parents were Roma Dale and Peck Allen. Many of you may remember his sister Sylvia who lives in California and brother Dale Allen.

Shelton “Jock” Posey Allen, II died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Dominic’s Hospital surrounded by his family.

Jock was born February 5, 1948 in Jackson, Mississippi to Shelton and Roma Dale Allen. He grew up in Magee and moved to Brandon when he married Deborah Ponder Allen on July 30, 1971. He was a long time member of Brandon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; his children, Chris Allen, Brooke Chandler (Chan), and Robby Allen (Ashley); his sister, Sylvia Albertson (Frank) and brother, Dale Allen; and his grandchildren, Anna Leigh Allen, Emmie Chandler, Addy Katherine Allen, Carson Chandler, Mills Allen, Lily Chandler, Wyatt Allen, and Haynes Allen; and a large extended family.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 from 10 am until 12 Noon at Brandon Baptist Church with services to follow at 12 Noon at the Church. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Garden in Brandon, MS.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
