Joan Brown Vaughn, Mendenhall, MS
Joan Brown Vaughn, 84, passed away January 21, 2017 at her residence. She was born on October 29, 1932 to her parents Leon and Mary (Fortenberry) Brown in Vicksburg, MS.
Joan was a retired beautician and artist.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Vaughn; daughter, Mary Jill Kayton; two brothers, Jerald Brown and Charles Brown.
She is survived by her son, Gary White of Neuenburg, Germany; one step-son, three step-daughters; sisters-in-law, Martha Brown and Nancy Brown and one grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for Ms Vaughn and her daughter, Mary Jill Kayton for Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Stonewall Baptist Church in the Stonewall Community in Simpson County. Bro. Roger Lee and Bro. Bobby Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the Stonewall Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Stonewall Cemetery Fund, C/O Linda Shivers, 106 Wickstead Rd, Clinton, MS 39056.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
