The Scriptural passage for today is found in Luke 5:31-32: “Jesus answered them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.'” Yes, Jesus gave His life for all mankind to cover all sin; however, it’s up to us to repent of our sins and follow Him as an acknowledgement of His ultimate sacrifice. Years ago, an evangelist led a revival at our church, and I remember vividly his saying that the church should not be a hotel for the saved, but a hospital for the sinner. I’ve thought of that so often through the years and of the truth in the statement. We are to help the downtrodden and those who need support and encouragement to find their way and become a vital part of the family of God. Amen!
Okay, we know what we must do today: share the love, joy, and kindness with all with whom we come in contact. A smile and a kind word just might make someone’s day. Happy Friday!
