Jerry Odis Bowlin, 66 years old of Mount Olive, MS, died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family and closest friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Velma Bowlin and sisters, Nan Earl Bowlin and Pauline Bowlin Hyde. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Burnham Bowlin; daughters, Paula Davis (Carl) and Chris Milner (Sport); son, Bo “Cephas” Bowlin (Kristie), thirteen grandchildren; brother, Rock Bowlin and a sister, Jo Anne Bowlin Means.

Mr. Bowlin was born and raised in the town of Louise in the MS Delta. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an alumni of Holly Bluff High School, Hinds Community College and Delta State University. He was a founding member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Mount Olive, MS. He recently retired from S.E.I. as a project manager and lifelong Doodlebugger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone. He was an avid deer and bird hunter his whole life, passing on a love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren.
There will be visitation for family and friends on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  A memorial service will follow on Monday, August 1, 2016, at Maranatha Baptist Church, Mount Olive, MS at 3:00 pm with Bro. Calvin Price and Bro. Danny Adams officiating.

Pallbearers are his seven grandsons, Justin Milner, Jase Davis, Dawson Davis, Walker Milner, Carter Davis, Jonathan Davis, and John Carter Bowlin.

Honorary pallbearers are his fellow Men’s Sunday School Brothers in Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made in his honor to the faithful ministries of Maranatha Baptist Church, 5601 Hwy 35 North, Mount Olive, MS 39119.

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
