Jerry Leverne Creason, Sr., 77, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 5-8pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, and from 10am until service time on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Braxton. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Holly Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Jerry was born February 2, 1940 to Lonnie Harlan Creason and Bethea Hedgepath Creason in Simpson County. He attended Harrisville Public School. He was a truck driver that loved driving a truck. He retired in 1996 after 30 years with Complete Auto Transit and Ryder Systems. He moved to Jackson where he met and married Margie Barnes, the love of his life, moving back to Braxton in 2000. He was a faithful member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack H. Creason and Kenith Ray Creason; his in-laws, Charlie and Flora Barnes, that Jerry loved very much and they loved him.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie; his sons, Jerry L. Creason, Jr. and Jason Scott Creason of Byram; his sister, Clara Jean “Tina” Barlow, and brother, Jimmy L. Creason.
