Gerald W. (Jerry) Davis

 Jerry Davis, 72, of Braxton, Mississippi, died Sunday August 8, 2021 at Simpson General Hospital in. He was born Saturday, November 27, 1948 in Hinds County, Mississippi

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton.

 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM until service time. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton. The Burial will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Carlous Smith, Bro. Jimmy Errington, and Bro. Andy Delancy will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401

 He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for over 50 years. He held numerous church positions over the years.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, H.J. and Freddie Davis, his brother and sister-in-law John and Bonnie Davis and his in-laws M.L. and Willie Jean Shorter.

 Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 52 year, Lena Jean (Shorter) Davis of Braxton, 3 children- son Kevin (Stacey) Davis of Braxton, daughter Melissa (Clay) Sizemore of Ocean Springs, and son Jeremy (Cindy) Davis of Puckett; 12 grandchildren- Jacob and Emily Davis, Cody and Sean Collins, Ryan and Anna Verdecchia, Tyler, Garrett, Madison, and Ryder Sizemore, Lawson and Levi Davisand 1 great grandson, Braxton Mears,  one brother Glenn (Vann) Davis of Braxton and several nieces and nephews.

 Pallbearers will be Jacob Davis, Ryan Verdecchia, Sean Collins, Tyler Sizemore, Garrett Sizemore, Cole Smith, Seth Mears, and Joe Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryder Sizemore.
