Jean Norris Stennett, 88, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at her home. She was born Saturday, September 3, 1932, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.
Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Tommy Shields will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564
Mrs. Stennett was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Taylorsville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a member of D.A.R. She enjoyed drawing, writing poetry, and genealogy. She always helped anyone she met and was a heck of a good cook. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Hobson Stennett; one daughter, Sherry Jean Stennett; parents, Oree Norris and Gussie Powers Norris; two brothers, Dewitt Norris and Roland Norris; two sisters, Eloise Norris Dees and Patricia Norris Finnegan.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Kathy Stennett Mize and husband, Danny, of Starkville; one honorary son, Daniel Booth of Taylorsville; two grandchildren, Louis Hobson Simmons and Geoffrey Dean Simmons and wife, Brittany; one great-grandchild, Sage Marie Simmons; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny Mize, Louis Simmons, Geoffrey Simmons, Daniel Booth, and Will Booth.
