On January 8, 2019 shortly after 7 PM, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department received an additional report of a person being blue lighted in the Harrisville area on Hwy 469. The motorist called E911 and activated emergency flashers and followed dispatchers instructions to keep driving the current course. The impersonator turned off shortly thereafter.
We have not received any further reports as of today (Monday, January 14th) and any tips may be made directly to the sheriff’s office @ 601-847-2921 or by calling Crime Stoppers @ 601-355-8477.
The Sheriff’s Department still asked that if any motorist is blue lighted by a suspicious unarmed vehicle to please activate your flashers and call 911. Dispatchers will then confirm whether or not the patrol car is real or an impersonator and will give you instructions accordingly.
The car pictured is similar to the one being driven by the impersonator.
