Janice J. Mathis McGuire passed away on August 17, 2017, at the age of 74.  She was born on August 26, 1942, to the late C. Oliver and Rachael (Walker) Jones in Magee, MS.

Janice was a retired teacher from Simpson County School District.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Magee where she was also a choir member.

She is survived by her husband, Charles McGuire; sons, Michael Mathis (Keligh), Jerry McGuire; daughters, Kim Thames (Tim), Shelly Mathis, Robin Arender, Deborah Guzouskis (Mike); sister-in- law, Kathy Davis; three grandchildren, Brandon Thames, Julie Mathis, Lacey Thames and six step-grandchildren.

Visitation for friends is Sunday, August 20, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. from 3:00 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee.  Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in Tutor Chapel with interment following in Magee City Cemetery. Bro. Glen Howell and Bro. Tommy Jennings will officiate.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
