Janice Canoy, 67 of Magee, MS passed away peacefully from this life Sunday, June 2, 2024, surrounded by her family at her residence in Magee, MS. She was born Tuesday, March 12, 1957, in Prentiss, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in 302 Eight Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11:00AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Magee City Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. J.R. McEntyre and Bro. Kole Johnson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031.

She was married to the love of her life Rockey for 46 years. Together they built a wonderful life and raised their two children. Janice was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw and sister. She made it her life’s mission to care for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandbabies. Janice retired in 2022 from the Simpson County School District after 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mims Williamson;  mother, Carolyn Winborn Brown;  brother, Jamie Brown;  sister, Linda Brown.

Survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Rockey Canoy; children; daughter, Ashley Barr, son-in-law, Jason. Son, Jacob Canoy, daughter-in-law, Amber. Grandchildren, James and Mackenzie Barr and Lucy and Jax Canoy; brothers, Howard Brown, Doc Brown; sister, Barbara Williamson; sister-in-laws, Ruby Meadows, Deloris Canoy and Gwen Yarber (Ben).

Pallbearers will be Lance Canoy, Richard Hudson, Julian Mendez, Jimmy Mangum, Slay Rankin, and Andy Barr.
