James Earl Cone passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his residence. He was born on March 16, 1937, to Burnace James Cone and Jamsie Thurman Cone.

He married the love of his life, Naomi Bright, on August 5, 1960.  They were married for over 57 years and have lived in the Mt. Zion Community outside of Magee.  He was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

James Earl was a long time member of The United Paperworkers International Union and retired from Georgia Pacific Monticello Mill after 32 years of service.  He loved his job and looked forward to going to it everyday.  As a heavy equipment operator, he operated backhoes, and cranes.  He loved the outdoors and fishing. James could accomplish anything he set his mind to.
