James Burnell Taylor was born February 22 of 1928 to the late Eva Estelle Taylor and James Madison Taylor of Pinola, Ms. He passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Collins VA.

James took great pride in his military career. He is a war veteran who fought in the North Korean War. After the war, he drove long-haul trucks for over fifty years. He was a lifetime member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Pinola, Ms.

He is preceded in death by his only wife Velma Sue Baynes, long-time companion Mary Jo Millis;his parents Eva Estelle Taylor and James Madison Taylor; his daughter Debbie Taylor Bradshaw;  his brother W.G Taylor; two sisters Louise Blackwell and Macie Cody; his daughter Charlotte Lynn Taylor Thomas (Maurice); his granddaughter Tammy Lynn Berry; and his son-in-law John Henry Bradshaw.

He is survived by his two sisters Lucy Craft and Bobbie Nell Scott; his sons Mike Taylor (Annie) and Bo Taylor (Becky); his grandchildren Jada Bradshaw, Kelsey Burmeister, Keisha Simmons, and Candice Rushing; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; and his best friends/extended family Joe Raymond Bowen and Claudette Bowen, Pamela Baynes, and Frank Baynes. He is also survived by His Big Gal.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 07, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Pinola, MS.  Bro. Stephen Hand will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
