Mississippi College running back James Banks will represent Team USA in the World University Championship, held in Monterrey, Mexico from June 1-11, 2016.
The six-team tournament features national teams from China, Guatemala, India, Japan, Mexio and the United States. The opening ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st at 3:00 p.m. (Central).
The U.S. opens pool-play on Saturday, June 4th, when they will face Guatemala at 7:00 p.m. (Central). They will also play Japan on Monday, June 6th at 7:00 p.m. (Central).
The top two teams from the two pools will advance to the semi-finals, which will be played on Wednesday, June 8th with the championship on Saturday, June 11th.
Banks (Violet, La.) rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns in 2015, while catching five passes for 37 yards. The Louisiana Tech transfer rushed for 305 yards and two scores in his two-year career for the Choctaws.
