Jacob Berry has been chosen as Star Student for Simpson Academy.
Jacob is the son of Kenneth and Wendy Berry of Braxton, MS. Jacob is a Senior At Simpson Academy and a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
Jacob has been blessed with many accomplishments both academically and athletically. He has held several positions in Simpson Academy student government, Class Favorite, A member of Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, FCA, FBLA, and Simpson County Youth Leadership. Jacob was the school winner of the 2016 Wendy’s Heisman Award. In golf, Jacob has been All District and All Sate since 9th grade. He was the South State low medalist in 2014 and 2015 and 2nd low medalist in 2015 State. In basketball, Jacob was All District and South State tournament team in 2015 and 2016. He was All State Tournament Team in 2015 and made 2016 Overall MAIS All Tournament Team. Jacob was selected Top 5 in MAIS in 2015. Jacob was also selected to MAIS Basketball All Stars where he placed 2nd in 3 point shoot out.
Jacob has been a member of the 25 ACT Club since 10th grade. In his Senior year, he advanced to the 30 ACT Club with a score of 30 on his ACT. Jacob placed in State Competitions in FBLA during his 9th and 11th grade.
Jacob received the Presidential Scholarship and will be attending Millsaps College in the fall. He signed a letter of intent to play golf at Millsaps last September.
Jacob selected Amy McWilliams as Star Teacher.
