Jack Copeland, 94, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2024. He was born February 10, 1930, to John B. and Wilma Burnett Copeland in Jackson, MS.
Jack joined the United States Navy in April of 1947, where he led an eventful military life. He was a Master Chief Radarman, the senior enlisted man at Radarman Class B School – Treasure Island, San Francisco, California. He was a qualified officer of the Desk of Destroyer, Supervisor Air Controller, and Electronics materials officer of an A.P.A. Transport Ship. He retired from the United States Navy as an E-9 in 1969.
In 1968, he began another career as an Arco Journeyman Electrician in charge of the Electronic Radio Shop where he repaired radios, pagers, alarms and band circuit board repairs. He retired in 1986 as head electrician of the plant..
He enjoyed freshwater fishing, boating, woodworking-building cabinets and furniture, and traveling with his wife to family reunions. He received his 60-year pin as a Master Mason and Scottish Rite.
He married his wife, Edna Robinson, on August 4, 1951, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2020. He is also preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Copeland; brothers, John Copeland (Mary), and Billy Copeland; and brothers-in-law, Alex Lovertich, Ray Walsh, and Bobby Grantham.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Christina Busby (Jason) and Debbie Hocker (Roy); brothers, Fred Copeland (Evelyn), and Larry Copeland (Aldina); sisters, Lucille Lovertich, Wilma Walsh, and Patsy Grantham; two grandchildren, Taylor Busby and Rylee Hocker; sister-in-law, Sudie Copeland along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS at 11:00 am. Bro. Joe Hanna will officiate the service.

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
