J.B. Lewis, 94, of Braxton, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at his home in Braxton, Mississippi. He was born Monday, May 2, 1927.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. The Burial will follow in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Brewer will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401.
He was an ordained minister who dearly loved his lord and savior. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and family gatherings. He was a very dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estus and Emma Lewis; son, Royce Doyle Lewis; grandson, Gabriel Michael Gregg; twelve siblings
Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Jenny Grace Shepard Lewis; three daughters, Patsy McDonald/Estee (Richard) of Braxton, Rachael Clark (Bruce) of Columbus, and Jamie Rankin (Terry) of Braxton; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons Tim Lewis, Daniel Harshaw, Roy Kees, Jay Kees, Ray Kees, Gunner Burnham, Gage Burnham, and Walt Kees.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at Baptist Hospital and Baptist Hospice Summer Smith for their devoted care.
