It’s Time to Plant!

It is that wonderful time every year, when everyone is waiting for the soil to warm up and it is time to plant!!! The yard and garden departments are overflowing with people looking at plants and seeds.

What seeds are we choosing to plant? Do we spend as much time selecting our words as we do our seeds to be planted in our garden? Jesus taught about farming:   we reap what we sow.

Hope In The Midst Of Grief

If I plant peas, I can expect to grow peas! What do I expect to reap if I sow harsh, unkind words?   What does the harvest resemble if I have planted anger and turmoil? What fruit does discouragement bear?

The Bible talks about this often in Galatians and Jeremiah.

Galatians 6:7 “ God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

Jeremiah 17:10 “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds”

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, kindness, peace, patience, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Wow!! If I expect to reap these fruits, I must sow the seeds! With the help of the Holy Spirit, I need to get started!
