MSP Inmate who died Thursday identified
JACKSON, MISS. – The 42-year-old inmate found unresponsive Thursday afternoon at the Mississippi State Penitentiary’s Unit 30 has been identified as Michael Robertson.
Robertson, MDOC #120320, was serving 10 years for drive-by shooting in Union County. He was sentenced August 17, 2016.
Foul play is not suspected in Robertson’s death. The cause and the manner of death are pending an autopsy.
JACKSON, MISS. – A 42-year-old inmate was found unresponsive Thursday afternoon during a security check at the Mississippi State Penitentiary’s Unit 30.
Emergency personnel were called to the dormitory-style area; the inmate was subsequently pronounced dead.
There were no signs of foul play. An autopsy will determine the cause and the manner of death.
The inmate’s name will be released once his next of kin is notified.
