JACKSON – An inmate serving 10 years at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution for robbery attempt has died.

William Sharp, 50, was found unresponsive in his cell Saturday at the Greene County prison.

There were no signs of foul play, according to the county coroner. An autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Sharp, MDOC #04466, was convicted and sentenced Sept. 25, 2018 in Grenada County.

Hello i was the fiance of William sharp that was found unresponive in this trouble prison i was being exyorted to keep from being killed. He was being treat inhumane slond with other kmates. I had to have him moved to from protecterdcustody because the warden anrhe captians in protective put his life on danger when another imate made death threats to him and they refused to do anything about it. So i had to make a couple of calls to have him move to lockdown. And on the night before i last talk to him he told me something ver disturbong and for me not to answer my phone if i dont regonize the number which some one dod call my phone 3 times that night. But i called the number back snd the imate change his number. So mow he was found unresponsive. Plus he had been complaing to me about chest pain and numbness on his left side. They refused at that time to check him out to see whst was causing and when they did see him told him that it was just gas. Thos is wrong and unacceptable. And somethingvneeds to be done about the imates civil right being violte
