The Magee Police Department makes arrest on individuals responsible for weekend crime spree.

The Magee Police Department responded to an alarm at Quick Cash Pawn shop on 2-19-16 at approximately 0316 hours. Sgt. Allen Martin arrived and observed a broken window and a broken lock on the rear door. The owners arrived and through in-store video, it showed two black males making an attempt to gain entry to the business. Officer Lin Easterling, while on routine patrol, had earlier observed two black males walking into Walmart around 0230 hours.  The two men  fit their description. Lt Joey Womack traveled to Walmart and recovered the video showing the black males entering Walmart in the early morning hours.

Lt. Womack and Sgt. Martin traveled to the Magee High School and School where teachers identified the two black males as DaKarri Lee and a juvenile (name not released). Lt. Womack issued an arrest warrant for DaKarri Lee and placed him under arrest at the Magee High School. A search of DaKarri’s back pack revealed a large frame air pistol that looked identical to a revolver firearm. The juvenile was also picked up at Magee High School and a search of his back pack revealed a large frame air pistol that also looked identical to a revolver firearm. The Magee Police Department also received a complaint from the Magee Middle School office that the gym had been broken into over the weekend. Lt. Womack interviewed Lee and the juvenile at the Magee Police Department. The individuals stole from Walmart two large frame revolver air pistol and two small semi-auto air pistols over the weekend. The suspects also admitted to breaking into the Magee Middle School gym, just to play basketball. The men also confessed to trying to breaking into Quick Cash Pawn shop in the early morning hours. Lee was charged with attempted commercial burglary, malicious mischief, shoplifting, and possession of a weapon on school property.
