Monday, November 11, 2019, the Veteran’s Day program was held at the Magee Armed Services Park.  The Park is located at the flagpole on Highway 49 near Sears and in front of Zips.

City of Magee employee Joe Worrell envisioned an area in Magee to honor our veterans and all service personal.  I am just saying, Joe hit the nail on the head!  The park area is lovely.

From the highway, the grassy knoll appears small. But in reality, the area is large.  The area holds one large flagpole displaying the American flag and the state of Mississippi flag as well as six shorter flagpoles with flags representing each branch of service and a POW flag.

Retired Colonel Steve Parham formerly of Magee was the speaker.

The area in front of the flagpoles is cemented with perfectly trimmed grass.

I will be posting additional articles Monday and Tuesday on the Veteran’s Day Program.  I have so many wonderful pictures!  I just decided to make several articles to showcase the pictures!

This picture is before the 6 other smaller flags were flown.
