If you have a child that will be entering the 11th or 12th grade in August…start now looking for scholarships.  Do not wait for the schools to “give” you this information.  I understand a packet is given to students containing scholarship information…..READ it!  I have no idea if everything is in the packets…but at least began with the school provided info. I don’t care how much money you do or don’t make, the FICA form must be completed.  (If you don’t know what that is …google it)

Now, if you are really interested in scholarships for your child, get on the internet and start searching.  If you sit around waiting for someone to find a scholarship for your child…you’re not very smart.

⚽ WORLD CUP QUESTION OF THE DAY!

June 20, 2026

I constantly hear complaints that “I didn’t know about that scholarship.”  Well, why didn’t you?  Did you ask?  Did you visit the guidance counselor?  Did you visit the local junior college and “ask” questions about availability of scholarships?

Being an A student is not a requirement for all scholarships.   Grades and need play a huge part of the game…but sometimes where a parent works or organizations they belong to can come into play.

Time after time, someone says to me…”I didn’t know we had to search for scholarships…I thought it was the school’s responsibility.  Hello, are you looking for another hand-out?  Well, you just might get nothing.  The scholarship world is not a “hand out” world…it is “seek and ye shall find” activity.

Just this week, I witnessed first-hand a $1,000 scholarship that was available to a Magee High School senior and no one applied nor was information given to the requesting body by the school.  I’m sorry…but this is pitiful…I am sure there was a senior who desperately needed that money.  And you know what….it is too late…deadline missed!!!

I’m just saying…if you want your child taken care of…get in the game…don’t leave your child’s future in the hands of others.
