I am writing these “messages” to much lately!!! A dear and special friend, Hope Currie Martin, died Sunday. Hope and I went all the way through Magee School together. Her mother taught me in elementary school. We appear side by side in every year book I can remember.
Hope taught me to make the best mud pie cakes! Hope lived in the country…now, for me to go to the country was a big deal (it still is…I am a city girl). Going to Hope’s house was like playing in a treasure chest! I loved all the things she taught me about country living…playing in the mud…playing hide n seek in the bushes…we just had good clean fun even if we were covered in mud.
Hope was kind. (I can’t say that about everyone!). She was kind to everyone.
Through the years we lost touch. (Something I regret)—-we are just too busy!). We didn’t talk…but I always knew Hope was still my friend! Years could never erase our friendship.
Hope made a difference in many lives. As a nurse, she shared her love with others through healing.
I’ll always miss my Hope. Thank you for being my friend.
So sorry to hear about Hope, she was a very sweet person. I guess the last time I saw her was in the old Magee Clinic. She was in nursing then.
Sweet Hope just like her mother. She had the sweetest most gentle and kind voice. She always spoke with such softness. What I remember most about Hope is that she was kind to everyone. I lost touch but always considered her my friend all these yrars.
Hope was a precious lady and she will be sorely missed. I cannot remember a time when I saw her that she was not smiling, even in the last few years when she was dealing with so many health issues.
Hope loved the Lord deeply and His love flowed out from her to everyone she met. To know Hope was DEFINITELY to love her! I am honored to have had the privilege to have known her personally and to be counted among her friends. Those who did not have the opportunity to meet her have truly missed a blessing.
We will miss seeing Hope’s smiling face, but I know she is rejoicing in the Lord’s presence right now! What an awesome blessing for her!!!
