The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” The apostle is speaking to early Christians to assure them that repentance is essential for all converts. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God; however, we know when we’ve sinned, because the Holy Spirit convicts us of it. We must confess those sins, then experience the cleansing God provides. He is faithful and just to forgive His children, but our repentance is essential. Let us be ever-aware of our sinful nature and the need to ask God’s forgiveness. Today, as we go about, attending to the daily rounds and common tasks, let’s be sure to remember to share love, joy, and kindness with all those with whom we come in contact.
