Twins, Mae and Ray, were born at home on May 17, 1931 to John L and Ida Nichols. Mae was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Vera Ware, Verna Bullock, Audell Hornback, Curtis Nichols Shoemake, Johnny Nichols, Ray Nichols, Emma Harrison, and Letha Griffin. She was also preceded by husbands William Ellington and Everett Eaton and son-in-law, the Rev Mike Thompson.

Survivors are her children; Wanda Thompson, Paul Robinson (Sue) and Thomas Ellington;

Her grandchildren; Judge Wayne Thompson (Tina), Dr Keith Thompson (Allyson), Marcie Robinson Tuggle (Chris), Trent Robinson, Brandy Ellington Williams (J. R.) and Jessica Ellington McDonald; Nick Spinella; Her great grandchildren: Taylor, Peyton Grace, Will Michael, Riley and Claire Thompson, Kaitlynn Tuggle Womack (James Drew), Ethan Robinson, Grant Robinson, Emma Williams, Dylan Gomez, Ty McDonald and Landon McDonald; Her great, great grandchildren: Katie and Kenston Womack, and her sister, Helen Bishop as well as many other extended family members.

As a believer in Christ, Mae was a member of and attended Dry Creek Baptist Church.  As a mother, she gave sacrificially for her three children. She loved her family and just wanted to see them and know what was going on in their life. Always an avid reader, Mama’s favorite reading material was The Magee Courier weekly newspaper and Mature Living and Guideposts magazine. For many years, Mama’s favorite television preacher was Dr. Charles Stanley and her favorite tv shows were the old westerns.
