The Scriptural passage for today is found in Psalm 130:5: “I wait for the Lord; my soul waits, and in His Word, I put my hope.” The psalmist is telling us down through the centuries that he is totally dependent on God for deliverance from this earthly existence to the next. Knowledge of God’s Word is a balm to him, a healing ointment, and a means of assurance that what God has promised will eventually come to pass. He knows that his faith will see him through until he is at rest with his Maker, his God. We Christians have that same assurance today, because we know that God’s Word never changes. It remains the same from everlasting to everlasting. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God.
Let’s be sure to get out there today and share the love, joy, and kindness God has imbued within us, His children. People are starving for love and kindness. Reach out and strive to make a difference. Let’s remember the old saying: “If everyone would light just one little candle, what a bright world this would be.” We can do our part.
