The Scriptural passage for today is found in Philippians 4:11-12: “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” The apostle, again, is speaking to the early Christians and to us today regarding the need to be reliant upon Jesus to supply all our needs. Of course, that constitutes a certain amount of industry and purpose for the individual Christian to produce and be fruitful in everyday living. God should be looked upon as being the Source of contentment and peace of mind. He is the Giver of life and wants to provide for His children all that is necessary for a bountiful life. Let us rely on Jesus for strength and sustenance, but never let us be found with idle hands. Amen!
