The Scriptural passage for today is found in Philippians 4:11-12: “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” The apostle is telling early Christians that he is content in whatever situation he finds himself, because he has the blessed assurance that God is with him and will lead and guide his steps and see to his needs. The apostle took very seriously the mission God gave him and was relentless in fulfilling it. We should adopt the same attitude toward our role as followers of Jesus. We should do this wherever we go and in whatever we do. Let us, as I remind us each day, share and spread love, joy, and kindness with all with whom we come in contact. Little is much when God is in it. We, too, are on a mission for God.
