The football game between Mississippi College and North Greenville University scheduled for Saturday (Sep. 15) at 6:00 pm (CT) has been canceled due to the impending threat of Hurricane Florence of the coast of the Carolinas.
“Our hope is to compete every scheduled contest, but the health and safety of our participants takes priority,” said GSC Commissioner Matt Wilson.
Earlier in the week, storm tracks showed a more favorable forecast for the Tigerville, S.C. area but recent movement in the path of the storm has created a larger threat to the state of South Carolina and surrounding areas.
A make-up date between the Choctaws and Crusaders will not be set.
The Choctaws are next set to face nationally-ranked and defending NCAA Divison II runner-up West Florida on Saturday, September 22nd at Robinson-Hale Stadium in Clinton.
