Hugh Fairly Hubbard, 77, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Hugh was born August 8, 1940, to Hugh and Sabra (Polk) Hubbard, the eldest of two children. He graduated from Magee High School and Mississippi State University. He met his beautiful bride, Jo Francis Jefcoat while attending Mississippi State, and they married on March 17, 1962.

Hugh had a long career in the trucking industry where he worked, owned and managed different truck dealerships throughout his life. He also farmed for several years on the Hubbard home place where he still lived. Hugh loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in his church, Hopewell Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He spent several years going on short-term mission trips to Nicaragua and Honduras with the Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Jo; sons, Hugh Jeff (Lynn) Hubbard and Lyle (Sue Ann) Hubbard; daughter, Fairly Cooper (Tony); sister, May McNeese; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with an hour of visitation prior to service. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hopewell Presbyterian Cemetery Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
