Simpson Academy just completed a successful cross-country season, complete with a state championship for Layla Warren, who was followed closely in second place by her teammate Lily Overby. As the Cougars prepare for the All-State Meet, Athletic Trainer Jonathan Pierce has advice for them, as well as for others who run or wish to begin running.
Pierce explained the proper stretches runners should do before and after races, as well as the best ways for new runners to get into the sport.
In addition, he explained the different injuries he often sees in people who have been running for a while as opposed to the injuries he sees in new runners.
