HOMEWARD BOUND
Listen today as the Holy Spirit speaks to you in a still small voice. Our devotion today comes from John 14:1-3. Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God believe in me. In my father’s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again that where I am they are ye may be also.
This scripture most of the time is read at funerals. We as Christians should call this text our going home text. Jesus tells us don’t let the world get you down for I can give you the strength you need to overcome whatever the world offers you.
If we believe in Jesus he tells us of our home that was bought and paid for at a place called Calvary. One day very soon the rapture is going to take place and we will leave this world and go to our final resting place.
If we don’t know Christ our resting place will be in a place called hell. In hell our soul will burn forever but never die. To become a child of God we must repent, be filled with the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance, take up our cross, and follow Jesus and then serve him.
One day we will reach the end of this journey when the roll is called up yonder where will you be? Won’t you come to Jesus today and make this week your victorious week.
