The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Proverbs 12:2: “A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord condemns a crafty man.” Read those words of wisdom again and think of the vast numbers of people you know of who are crafty and conniving. The BIBLE is filled with examples of such men and women. Do we wish to pattern our lives after them? Let us be wary of them and choose to mirror our lives after Jesus Christ, our supreme example. While on earth, He was a good man, one without spot or blemish. Do people say of us, “He’s a good man,” or “She’s a good woman”? No finer compliment can be paid another person. Let us all strive to obtain favor from the Lord by going about doing good. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God! Amen!
