The Scriptural passage for today is found in Revelation 3:20: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me.” This is the invitation Jesus extends to us all. Our response is critical, however. He doesn’t push; he doesn’t attempt to coerce. The decision is totally our own. Do we ignore the knocking at our heart’s door, remain in our sin, and face eternal separation from God, or are do we realize our lost condition, repent, and enter a new life with Christ? If we do accept the invitation and His marvelous gift of salvation, we enter into a special relationship with Jesus Christ and become heirs and joint heirs of His bountiful riches. It’s the most important decision of our lives. We are not promised tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation. Listen and respond to Jesus’ knock, open the door, welcome Him in, and inherit life everlasting. Don’t delay.
